just a photo of a bee I took about 2 years ago. As I said in other places, didn’t think it was good enough to post. But my eye kept getting drawn back to it, and I think that has something to do with the comp and the colors, so hey, here it is :)

when I see you
solitary,
dwarfing the mountains,
I am overwhelmed with sorrow.

it’s not easy being a giant,
having the difficult task
of holding up the sky.

being immortal is a kind of curse:
protecting other finite beings
because they’re weak and prone to error.

They destroy what they love
because they do not understand

that the past is always present

always bearing down—
an infinite load of white atmosphere

choking the future.

she peered into the mist
for some kind of certainty.

what else could she do
but recite the law of identity
over and over again:
“a thing is what it is because it is not

to know what a thing is—
would mean everything.

it could mean the end of her suffering.

did she not have a right to know
in whose presence she had been?
a right to know what you were?

I mean what were you
if you were not good?

“Paradise Lost”

an angel was disoriented
and his wings were broken.

falling
from the sky,

he reached out
to someone
who had lost faith and could no longer see
him.

cutting through the clouds,
his tears splashed bitterly
against the leaves,
washing them in bits of scattered blue
and fading memories from heaven.

only the lake caught him,
folding round his water-logged wings
into a gentle, but relentless embrace.

“Bug Ferris Wheel”

Have you ever wanted to float away in a huge dandelion puff? Cast your cares aside and fly off to a better place? Well, what if you were a little blue bug and you just happened to be hanging out on a puff doing bug stuff and then this really mean person with a camera picked the dandelion and started blowing? :D Add a little rain into the mix and you get what happened here.

I know what you’re thinking. What’s the big deal about a bug wheel right? But I like the idea of a bug Ferris Wheel. Where little bugs can go to drink rain drops and make wishes :) and most importantly –fly! Who cares if it makes absolutely no sense.
